Leadership News July 2024
Some information on the work being done behind the scenes.

Over the last six months the Leadership Team has gone through a few changes whilst endeavouring to push forward the structure of the club and opportunities available to members. Specifically, Julia Runte has become Acting President and FAWCO rep, Laura Pritchard has become Vice President, Amy Tobias has become Secretary and Toma Clark Haines has become Treasurer. Many thanks to the people who have held these positions in the past and decided to move on.
The Leadership Team has adopted these titles to conform to Italian official Association requirements but the they have decided not to incorporate just yet and will retain a less corporate structure and terminology in all other areas. As such, for example, rather than committees, the association will use the term Teams for any groups organised within the Association to help manage events etc.
In other areas, the website has been moved to a new hosting and had a little facelift in the process. The Members Area is now fully functioning with a Membership Area, Resources Database and a series of forms that members can use to communicate their ideas, contributions and (hopefully rare) concerns. If anyone has another idea that could added to this private resource area for Members, please submit a Suggestion Form. There is also a brand new FAQ's page where members and anyone interested in joining should find the answers they need but as if there is something missing.
After a year of supporting two organisations that offer services for local women suffering from domestic violence, it would be wonderful to get suggestions for the Association's good cause(s) for 2024/5.
Finally, the constitution which was voted upon by members a couple of years ago has gone through some modification - mainly to simplify the text but also to make the purposes of the club more clearly defined. The plan is to discuss this at the September meeting which has been decided to be online so that as many people as possible can attend. There will be a live event later in the month.
