January Meeting Recap 2025

It was wonderful to see so many members, including two prospective new members, make it down to Castello 925 on a cold January night for our first meeting of the year.
The meeting started with a quick recap, from President, Julia, about how the new Teams are progressing along with a thank you to those making them happen, Watch out for more information from the Let's Cook Team, Causes Team and Go Crab Go Team.
VP and point person in charge of events, Laura, then updated those present on the progress with the Carnival Party with the announcement that Sara Longo and Alvise Seggi will be providing the live music for the first half of the evening and that the venue will once again be Spazio Levante in Campo Bragora. She also put out a call for people to help with decorations and, on the day, people to help at the venue. The raffle has already garnered a great top tier prize from the Hilton Stucky Molino, thanks to member Sheridan. To help members ask for donations, if anyone has questions about what their donation will be for, a page will be provided on the www.aiwav.org website with FAQs and other information.
The evening then moved onto the main event as member, Toma, shared some insightful ideas on how to manifest your heart's desire, whether you're trying it on New Years Day or at any other point in your life. Toma talked about some of the seminal moments in her life and how 'setting and forgetting' often proved to be an effective strategy. She described how something, through a series of questions that she has worked out to ask herself, that she really wants in life might percolate in the background of her life and then suddenly materialise in a way direct demands had never succeeded. Toma also showed a number of drawings that she has made over the years as part of this process - the idea being that the act of drawing works on the brain differently than say, writing in words or speaking out loud. Finally she reminded the room that everyone present has manifested something that brought them to Venice and, as such, they were already experts.
The evening ended with a period of informal chat and a chance to look at the striking photos of the latest exhibition at Castello925, created by the Vittoriiie Collective.
